Avant took Tomica with him when he moved for the legendary record company “Motown”. Tomica gained a lot of experience while working with Clarence in “Tabu Records” and “Motown”.

Life still had a lot on hold for Tomica Wright. After the death of her beloved husband, Eric Wright, she inherited his record label “Ruthless Records”. In 1996, she became CEO of the world-class record studio. She had to go through a lot of problems during her initial days. The then recently widowed woman had to face a lot of difficulties, criticisms, and bitter blames while running Ruthless Records. However, nothing could stop the fire inside her.

The smart businesswoman cum producer implemented many amazing business strategies. She started retaining the prevailing artists and recruiting fresh talents. Some of the artists signed under her leadership are Chris Tucker, Big Chan, THE NX, Big Rocc. The artists also started doing wonders. Within a short tenure, she became able to prove her ability.

The CEO of “Ruthless Records” was in an honest relationship with her then-boyfriend, Eric Lynn Wright. Eric is a legendary rapper of all time. He is also the founder of Ruthless Records which was later acquired by Tomica. Eric was a big name in the rap and pop music fraternity. His stage name is Eazy-E.

Although Eazy-E had already seen a label of success, Tomica was still not popular among people. She was struggling to establish herself. The two started dating each other in the early 90s. After staying together for four years, they tied their knots in 1995 just before 12 days of Eric’s death. People criticized that Tomica took a chance to inherit his property by marrying him when he was in the final battle of life and death. The widow almost went through depression.

The rap idol died at the age of 30 on 26th March 1995 due to pneumonia caused by AIDS. However, people opined that his death could probably be a conspired murder.

The couple was already blessed with a baby boy, Dominick Wright. It might be really sad to know that Tomi was 3 months pregnant for their second child when Eazy-E left the world. After 6 months of his death, she gave birth to their daughter, Daijah Wright. Things weren’t easy for her. However, she managed to raise their two children single-handedly and run Ruthless Records parallelly in a graceful way.
