Travis Scott sued for copyright infringement for ‘Highest in the Room’ guitar melody.
Hip Hop sensation Travis Scott and associated producers and engineers have been sued over alleged copyright infringement on the rapper’s hit song, ‘Highest in the Room.’
As reports from Billboard, the lawsuit alleges Scott and his collaborators were “pretending to be interested in collaboration,” only to “intentionally break the rules by exploiting plaintiffs work without consent or a license, masquerading as if plaintiff’s music is their own.”
Travis Scott SUED for STEALING “Highest in the Room” (MILLIONS!!!)
The three alleged plaintiffs songwriters are Benjamin Lasnier, Olivier Bassil, and Lukas Benjamin Leth. The lawsuit was filed yesterday on June 9 toward rapper Scott and his collaborators, Mike Dean, Jimmy Cash (Jamie Lepr), Oz (Ozan Yildirim), Nik Dejan Frascona, and Sean Solymar.
As in now, the songwriters are urging the court to award them losses in addition to their share of royalties for ‘Highest in the Room.’ FYI, ‘Highest In the Room’ debuted at Number One on Billboard’s Hot 100 last October.
