Zeljko Ivanek was born Zeljko Simic-Ivanek on August 15, 1957, in Ljublijana, PR Slovenia,FPR Yugoslavia. He is 64 years old as of writing this article.

He has a brother, Ivan Ivanek. His family settled in Palo Alto, California, in 1960, where his dad was studying for his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at Stanford University. The family moved back to Yogoslavia for five years in 1962 and again returned to Palo Alto in 1967.

Ivanek graduated from Ellwood P. Cubberley High School in 1975 and has been part of numerous community theater plays in the San Francisco Bay Area.

He attended Yale University, graduating with a major in theater in 1978. For his other degree, he enrolled at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

Talking about his height, he stands at the average height of 5 feet 7 inches (1.7 m). He holds American nationality and belongs to mixed ethnicity.

From 1993-1999, he starred as Ed Danvers in the NBC television series Homicide: Life on the Street. Similarly, he landed the role of Governor James Devlin in the drama series Oz from 1997 until 2003.

Ivanek won a Primetime Emmy Award for his stunning performance as Ray Fiske in the FX thriller series Damages from 2007-2010.

He appeared as Molina in the action-thriller film Live Free or Die Hard (budget $110 million and grossed $388.2 million) in 2007.

Zeljko acted as Robert Pender in the historical drama thriller film Argo (budget $44.5 million and box office $232.3 million) in 2012. 

Furthermore, he was seen in the dark comedy crime film Seven Psychopaths (box office $33 million and budget $13.5-15 million) in 2012.
