Julie Chen (born Julie Suzanne Chen Moonves) is an American television presenter, anchor, and producer. She is best known for her stint as the host of the CBS reality show, ‘Big Brother.’ 

Julie is known as the longest-serving host of the show since its debut in 2000. Julie was also a co-host and the moderator of the CBS Daytime talk show, ‘The Talk,’ for a total of eight seasons. 

As a daughter of Chinese immigrants, the TV personality described how hard it was for her to get work. There are instances where Julie admitted she was rejected for her Asian look. Following which she revealed it forced her to go under the knife. Let’s find out about Julie Chen’s plastic surgery.

Julie Chen is 43-year-old and still as beautiful as ever. While she was always beautiful, the television personality revealed she has had plastic surgery. The TV presenter revealed she went under the knife ages ago to change the look of her eyes.

While there are other speculations about her plastic surgery as well, as she used filler and Botox, but we could not confirm any of the claims. However, about the eye surgery, it’s what she has admitted herself. 

Why Did Julie Chen Opt for Plastic Surgery?

In an article published on USA Today, it was revealed why Julie Chen came with a decision to go under the knife. On the article, it was mentioned the TV personality had plastic surgery years ago to change the look of her eyes.

Julie, while revealing about her plastic surgery, said, “My secret dates back to — my heart is racing — it dates back to when I was 25 years old, and I was working as a local news reporter in Dayton, Ohio.”

When she asked her news director if she could fill on for vacationing anchors over the holidays, her director said, “You will never be on this anchor desk because you’re Chinese.’ He said, ‘Let’s face it, Julie, how relatable are you to our community? How big of an Asian community do we really have in Dayton? … On top of that, because of your heritage, because of your Asian eyes, I’ve noticed that when you’re on camera, when you’re interviewing someone, you look disinterested and bored because your eyes are so heavy, they are so small.”

To which Julie replied, “It felt like a dagger in my heart. It was racism. I got “very insecure about it all. I’d watch my segments and, All I could see was my eyes.”

And when Chen asked for advice with her agents to find a new job, she said, “a “big-time agent told me, ‘I cannot represent you unless you get plastic surgery to make your eyes look bigger.’  And I did it.”
