Is Vicki Gunvalson Done with Plastic Surgery at All?

As a reality TV star, you’d expect Vicki Gunvalson to be on the plastic surgery side, not that it’s some sort of a stereotype. But yeah, Gunvalson has gone under the knife and talked about it often. She has, however, decided to walk out of that path, although no one is agreeing to it.

Gunvalson’s plastic surgery began a long time ago and had been criticized for being obsessed of the industry since that long ago. And when she said she was giving up after changing to Tamra Judge‘s surgeon, the Bravo universe was not buying it, as a few times later, she was thought to have had more.

So what’s the story? There seems to be some ambiguity in her definition of plastic surgery as her most recent claim was not something she actually wanted but rather needed.

Vicki Gunvalson Had a Big Facelift Reveal in 2018 She Got from Judge’s Doctor

It was Tamra Judge who suggested Gunvalson needed a cosmetic procedure done, a rather prominent one. In order to go through the recommended facelift, she had to remove all of her face fillers she had prior to the surgery.

“I went to Tamra’s doctor because she told me I needed a facelift. So I thought, ‘Okay, I gotta listen to Tamra so she doesn’t get mad at me.’ No, but God love Tamra, she tells me like it is,” she told EtOnline in 2018 prior to the 13th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County. “I had a lower facelift two months ago just like she did and you’re going to see it towards the end of the season.”

Of course, before a change that significant, her fillers she had before had to be removed. “That was one thing that I think a lot of doctors overdo,” she continued. “Through the last four, five years, as I got older, they kept wanting to [add] Juvederm, and Restylane, and this and that, and Sculptra, and before I knew it, I didn’t look like myself. So, I took all the fillers out.”

Gunvalson may have parted ways with her fiance Steve Lodge, but he was an integral part of her decision and surgery. While he supported and stayed by her side during the healing process of the surgery, she also made a promise to him that the lower facelift she had would be the last she’ll ever have for plastic surgery. And Dr. Ambe was also a part of the promise.

“I feel great,” Vicki gushes. “And I promised Dr. Ambe — I love you so much! — I’m never doing another filler, another anything. I’m just leaving it alone,” she continued. “If I didn’t have Steve, I don’t know how anybody can go through it without somebody telling you, ‘Take another Xanax. Go back to bed’.”

” ‘Cause I was like, my brain was telling me I was good, but I’d get up and be like, whoo. Wanna pass out again, so it was a brutal recovery. It was 10, 12 days, but after that, you kinda forget about it.”

She Defended Her Plastic Surgery Obsession After Multiple Procedures in 2013

Before the facelift, the 58-year-old underwent a number of procedures to her face in 2013 — fat transfer to her face, a nose job and a chin implant. And she was immediately criticized for it. Of course, seeing a string of changes so quickly would make anyone attack someone.

However, Gunvalson’s own mother also didn’t know about his procedures even after looking at her right after the surgery. And she had some words for the critics as well, also saying she didn’t feel that different.

“It’s my body and it’s my life,” she told People in response. “I’m only trying to make myself look the best I can be. I can’t really worry about the haters. I just want to be with the lovers.”

And she still says that today.

Some Suspected More Facelift a Year Later, But She Underwent a Different Procedure

Back in March 2019, when Gunvalson posted a photo of her and Judge on Instagram, many immediately jumped to lash out at her. Two users truly served her, “Vicki looks like a wax face. Will they be able to fix the face work?” Of course, she did have admirers in there too.

Plastic surgeons like Norman M. Rowe did have some thoughts about it. He suggested a combination of a liquid facelift and Kybella treatments was at works. Of course, he did not treat her.

Outside the speculations, though, a few weeks later, she did end up in the doctor’s chair. It was a while before the 14th season’s premiere in April 2019 when she was reported to have had a procedure to apparently leave her “clear + brilliant”. It supposedly “shrinks pores, improves texture and stimulates collagen”.

Although, she later clarified why she was in the surgeon’s chair at all. She wanted to make sure people knew it was a non-elective surgery. She posted a series of photos on Instagram on Saturday, April 13, showing her at the time of procedure and returning home to rest. And sure, Lodge could be seen happily supporting her.

“Had another NON ELECTIVE procedure yesterday and feeling much better today,” she wrote in the caption for a collage of photos. “Thank you to all that reached out.”

She Still Insists She’s Done with the Surgeries and All

The reality star’s children, Briana Culberson and Michael Wolfsmith, were sharing their concerns over her choice of more plastic surgery, even if she needed it. But she’s promised Michael she won’t do it unless absolutely necessary.

“I don’t anticipate any more plastic surgeries, but if something needs to be tweaked, I’m gonna get something tweaked,” she’d said in the 13th season of RHOC. “I don’t have to get permission from my kids. It’s my body, last time I checked. I’m gonna do whatever the hell I want to it.”

The thing remains unsure with the split between Gunvalson and fiance Lodge. With so many already done, it’s unlikely she’ll want to repeat what many in the industry have ended up with.
