Belinda Carlisle Says She’s Lucky to Have a Nose. Was Plastic Surgery an Option?

There’s a certain knowledge that cocaine addiction takes quite a toll on the user’s nose, for very apparent reasons, of course. And Belinda Carlisle believes she shouldn’t have had hers after 30 years of such a case. She’s laughed off about her nose a lot of times in several interviews.

Some do consider her a “hot mess”.

“I can’t believe I’m not dead. I should actually look like the Phantom of the Opera with just two holes in the front of my face,” she told The Guardian in 2017 after over a decade of sobriety. “I’m surprised I still have a nose on my face and that I don’t look like I’m a million years old,” she said in another interview.

Ever considered plastic surgery for it? Several of her interviews confirm her statement as she’s pressed it again and again, indirectly of course. And it’s also apparent from her own stance on plastic surgery as well.

Carlisle Says She’s Had Botox, “Anybody in This Industry Who Says They Don’t Is Lying”

There’s a statement you don’t see very often. And there’s no reason to say that’s no true. Carlisle puts her faith in Botox as she often uses it to maintain a respectable face, although cocaine and alcohol didn’t really mess it up either.

And while the soon-to-be 62-year-old is yet to actually cut her face, you know, get any “real” surgery, she is considering cosmetic surgery in the future. Although that was exactly a decade ago, and it isn’t sure if she’s already gone under the literal knife. Still, her sentiments have likely not changed.

She says she remembers wearing makeup only once when passing out in her coat.

“I’m not opposed to tweaking every now and then, although I haven’t ‘cut’ yet,” she told the UK’s Closer Magazine in 2010. “I’m thinking about it! Yes, I have Botox. Anybody in this industry who says they don’t is lying! I get it every six months, just a little bit. There’s nothing wrong with tweaking — you just have to be careful you don’t go too far.”

Either way, she has her secret of maintaining her face as fresh as she would’ve wanted even after the decades of a substance problem. One of them, she says, is often removing her makeup, even after being so high or drunk back in the day.

Well, guess her bad-girl desire got the best of her. But thanks to a lot of things besides the self-hallucination, one of them being Buddhism, she’s back on the right track. Tours will continue with the band as well.
